Meeting Called to Order - Chris Noponen at 7:10 pm
Minutes of the previous meeting motioned for approval, seconded and passed.
Agenda - Request for an additional item concerning Myron Carlson was added. Motion made to approve Agenda as amended. s/p
BBLYHA Treasurer's Report
Checkbook balance of $8,913.50 Expenses included check of $26,328.55 to Ice account (prepaid monies); BBC room usage deposit; Verio for annual web host fee. All ice arena bills have been paid. Outstanding bills include $4,120.20 to TSP Architects. Delinquent accounts total $3,737.34 (about 15 families).
Gambling account is still open at bank with a $100.03 balance. Also just was informed of a savings account with a balance of $579.77. Not sure of what these are from/for but possibly the Blue Line Account? No activity for over 36 months.
Chelle just received a letter from TSP requesting payment of outstanding balance. Question was raised as to why not pay TSP? Responses included that it's arena money; Lois wants talk to TSP because there are things not done that they stated they would do and haven't. Tabled until Lois returns and is able to speak with TSP.

Announcements/Communications
Chris Nelson shared with the general membership his recent decision to step down as BBLYHA President. Chris stated that he did so for many reasons; that he felt to was pushed out the door; he stated that as President he felt he should have been the first to be notified of various situations when in fact he was the last.
District 10 Report - John Gilbertson
" Squirts will use the black pucks (not the blue pucks as previously told).
" There is a President's meeting September 14.
" USA Hockey is close to mandating the attendance of all parents, etc. at the HEP seminar (put on by MN Hockey). Decision was made that it is too short of notice this year to make it mandatory for coaches.
Fundraising

Gambling License Application
" Chris Nelson tried to speak to Mike concerning this but was not able to (also concerning jersey sponsorship for this year).
" He is also looking into how long it is necessary to keep our old pull tabs.
Calendar Deb Levens not present
" Cheryl Hurt reported that she will attend the Big Lake Township meeting August 11 to request permission to hold the drawing there.
" Board members are asked to attend the meeting as well.
Wreaths Jill Downs not present

" Sunday, September 26 from 9-1 pm at the Big Lake American Legion.
" Ann Reed will produce the necessary numbered tickets and will get them to Lisa Ramerth for distribution with the registration packets
" Cost will be $5 adults; $3.50 for kids 3-12; 2 and under are free.
Golf Tournament
"Cheryl Hurt spoke to Rollie.
" Rollie stated that the money raised is in the bank but wouldn't say the amount. Only 4 teams participated. He also stated that he did not advertise it as "BBL Youth Hockey" so it could turn the funds over to the high school program as well.
" He also stated that he would be willing to help with another tournament next year. Chris Nelson stated he would help as well and he would speak to Scott Johanns for his assistance as well.

" Cheryl gave Deb more contacts and Deb is working to get the best deal for us. She is also still working on the location.
Equipment
Storage Shed
" Johna reported that there are still jerseys, pucks, etc. out and there is no record of what has or has not been turned in.
" Lisa Ramerth stated that she passed on the check in sheet to Tim Houghton at the Year End Banquet as well as the jerseys turned in that day. " Johna checked with Tim and he stated that they took the jerseys to the storage shed but Johna found nothing there.
" Chris Noponen will contact Tim to ask him to go there and will let Johna know.
" Suggestion made to ask in the next Newsletter for folks to check to see if they still have their jerseys from last year and to please turn them in if so.
" Motion made "that a new lock be purchased and that only the Equipment Manager and the BBLYHA President have the keys". s/p
" Johna will choose a date to go to the storage shed to organize and Board members are expected to assist her.
New Jerseys
" Report that there are 5 teams thus far that will receive new jerseys this year because of sponsorships.
" Cheryl is still obtaining quotes on "good" jerseys. She is asked to bring samples to storage shed clean up day for approval to order
MN Wild Tickets
John Gilbertson reported that we are able to get 200 tickets for the Saturday, December 18 or 100 tickets for the Tuesday, November 9 games. Motion was made "to buy the 300 tickets ($4,510 cost) with $910 to hold them for us". s/p The $15 tickets will be sold for $20.
ACE/Coaching Coordinator Report Mike Gonrowski
Red Line Clinic canceled
Question was raised as to what are we going to do with the booked ice? We will put on our own Skating Dynamics session with the cost coming out of the season hockey fee (no additional fee to parents).
Evaluations
" Process will be discussed and approved by Board at their meeting immediately following the general membership meeting.
" There will be 4 outside evaluators that will be set up after the process has been finalized and approved and the drills have been figured out.
Coach Report
" Mike reported that a good number of individuals have applied but not enough to cover all anticipated teams
" Half of the coaches from last year have not signed up/applied yet
" The Evaluation Committee will choose the team participation and level of play for levels

" Tammie Ellingson has agreed to continue as Coordinator for upcoming season.
Registration Coordinator Lisa Ramerth

" If family is not paid up from previous year(s), packet will include an "invoice"
" Due to a District 10 meeting recently scheduled, the date for Registration was changed to Friday, August 27 from 6-9 pm at the Big Lake Lions Park.
Arena
" Letter of Intent is on Marly's desk
" Land is not ready because its final plot has not been done. Big Lake rep stated final lot could be done in 90 days.
Myron Carlson
" Renee and Jay Rossman requested that the Board reconsider waiving Myron and Julie's son, Logan, into the BBL association.
" It was explained that since the Carlson's residence falls in the Princeton Association's boundaries, they would need to receive a waiver out from Princeton, a waiver in from BBL, and that Phil Graber, District 10 Rep, would need to agreed to it. Phil Graber, when asked, stated that he would not accept such a waiver.
Discount/Free Program for Goalies
Mike Gonrowski stated that while attending a recent Mite Coordinator meeting he asked about other association's policies concerning goalies. He reported that many associations set up one night a month where their goalies are on the ice but that no one offers a free or discounted program to attract skaters to be goalies. Table discussion.
Board Positions
" Currently the Fund Raising Coordinator is considered a member of the Youth Hockey Association. Motion was made "that the Fundraising Coordinator position be moved to the Ice Association Board." s/p
